Paula also recently premiered a trio of three short films called Souvenirs, a project emerging from her selection as Artist-in-Residence for the City of Winnipeg’s Public Art Program. Souvenirs was nominated for Best Documentary Short at the 2009 Yorkton Short Film Festival and named winner of the 3rd annual Manitoba Day Award.
Other projects include The Notorious Mrs. Armstrong, a documentary which won three Blizzard Awards for best writing, directing and editing; a Gemini Nomination for best editing and a Bronze Plaque from the Columbus Film & Video Festival. Paula’s independent short dramas have received several award nominations and been showcased at festivals around the world. She is slated to direct a new dramatic short in 2010 based on her own script called The Crest.
Paula Kelly was recently selected for the inaugural Manitoba Hothouse Award for Creative Development. In 2009, she was awarded a Banff Fellowship through the prestigious Women in the Director’s Chair workshop. She is also a recipient of the CTV Fellowship, the MIPCOM Fellowship and an alumna of the Canadian Film Centre.

Liz Jarvis joined Buffalo Gal Pictures in 1995. As producer, production executive and assistant director, she has been instrumental in building alliances with national and international producers to create a wide range of award-winning feature films, documentaries, and short dramas.

Liz recently produced The Stone Angel with writer-director Kari Skogland (World Premiere, Toronto International Film Festival 2007). This feature film adaptation of the beloved novel by Margaret Laurence stars Ellen Burstyn, Christine Horne, Ellen Page, Sheila McCarthy with Kevin Zegers and Dylan Baker. Liz developed and produced the feature film, Seven Times Lucky, with writer/director Gary Yates in 2004. The film, starring Kevin Pollak and Liane Balaban, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, screened at the Toronto International Film Festival and the Shanghai International Film Festival and won the Citytv Award at the Vancouver International Film Festival.
Liz is actively involved in Manitoba’s motion picture community as a mentor for upcoming filmmakers and she is a past member of the Board of Directors of On Screen Manitoba (formerly the Manitoba Motion Pictures Industry Association). Liz teaches Film Production at the University of Winnipeg.
